Hi all. I’ve had my mother Alo for about 5 years, and her base is very slender. It’s “spring” in Ontario but it’s been incredibly gray outside so I know she isn’t getting the sunshine she needs. She also has one biological baby with her and one adopted. Any tips to help her grow strong at her base or support her is appreciated !!

I’ve seen others cut the stem and place it back into the soil to reroot with the leaves closer to the soil. I’m trying it now with an aloe that had gotten too tall. Of course, research it and see if that’s something you want to try. I just had no idea you could just cut the roots off and have it just reroot.

Totally get it! Maybe just repot her a bit deeper so the leaves are closer to the ground? The stalk should grow additional roots to help stabilize

This is clever. I need to put her in a draining pot anyways so I will do both at the same time. Thank you!

I moved her and she already seems better. How close does a plant need to be to a grow light for it to have an impact? Thank you 😊

Don’t put it too close or you could burn its leaves.
