I’m toying with the idea of trying to train my tradescantia to grow up on a moss pole. If you’ve done this, can you share pictures?

    I could be wrong but they don’t have arial roots to grow into the moss pole. Bamboo stakes prob better and will make your life easier than a moss pole.

      Any idea about a Heart Leaf Philodendron or a Will they climb or are they mostly trailing type plants?

      As stated by other users, Heart leaf will grow on a moss pole but if you really want to grow something on a pole, I’d recommend a monstera deliciosa or thai constellation. They cheap these days depending on where your located and grow very nice on a moss pole.

      Heart leaf philodendrons can climb I’ve had experience with ones that climb.

    Agreed. They are trailing not climbing. Don’t have proper roots or stems for climbing.

    Pothos and heart leaf philodendron will climb and enlarge in a moss pole, but not tradescantia

    This is one of my tradescantia with thicker vines I braided it around a pole, it's about 18" high. But my other purple wandering one with thin vines I let hang. There's no aerial roots, so it won't "latch" on to a pole like other plant types.

    Tradescantia are usually ground cover plants/crawlers so I don’t believe they can be trained up a moss pole
