Creating humidity in chilly apartments?
Creating humidity in chilly apartments?
You could use a humidifier, spray the leaves regularly, and put the plants in your bathroom. If you have a tropical plant that needs humidity and there’s a cold draft then I’d probably suggest shutting the window that the draft is coming through too. Hope this helps! 😊
2 Mi piaceMisting per planta rec ✔️ Bathroom ✔️ Our place’s baseline is chilly, even with the windows closed. I know the obvious answer is to crank the heat but $$$ lol I’ll look into a humidifier. Any thoughts about the water/pebble tray idea? Does that actually work?
1 mi piaceI’ve heard of many people saying their pebble-trays work, I’ve never tried it myself but from the research I’ve done it does seem like it helps!
3 Mi piaceI've used pebble trays but I'm one of those people who can't tell the difference. I just bought a warm/cool mist humidifier since I don't want the room to be cooler than necessary and can be changed to cool mist in the summer. Someone else said they use their diffuser and I tried that for a different group of plants and they seem happy. Good luck and post what you decide to do.
1 mi piaceTo get higher humidity, use hand misting, i use the continuous spray ones with DI water. The other option is a humidifier, because people can't apparently clean their products, it's really hard to find one that's not "cool mist" but they are out there. Mine is a Dreo. It does both cool or warm. I wanted warm being in WA, to increase humidity and temp. I also used DI in that. I also liked this one because it had an app option, and schedule.
