Hi everyone! I got this string of pearls about a month ago and I’ve been watering once soil is dry. The bottom of the strings are turning brown and crunchy though and I was wondering if y’all had any tips to help her look full and luscious again? Thanks in advance!!

I read that they like shallow containers and that the ones they’re sold in like this aren’t really the best for it. I would remove the dead bits and move the live pieces into a smaller container. They will root and grow but it takes time. I have string of pearls on my balcony that I started from one of those 1” cups a few years ago and now it’s almost as long as I am tall. Definitely follow Planta’s liquid fertilizer schedule. I stopped watering for a season and the pearls got parched but it perked right up like it never happened.

String of pearls are a succulent, so err on the dry side when watering. They are happier with filtered light most of the day and mild, consistent temperatures. They are very forgiving when this size, so give it a shot of succulent fertilizer with your next watering and follow Planta’s watering schedule as ABagel suggested.
