Am I doing something wrong here? It’s like all the bottom leaves are yellowing and falling off. I can’t tell if it’s over or under watering either. First pic is 23 days ago and 2nd and 3rd are from today. It looks like all the leaves have a little yellow now ā˜¹ļøā˜¹ļø

I love adansonnii, but I swear they go so fast from healthy to unhappy. Luckily they’re capable of recovering quickly too, but it can be a bit of a headache figuring out what they’re mad about. In my experience anyways I find when the oldest leaves start dying at the same time, it’s usually been a root issue for me. It’s hard to do trial and error with watering because the roots don’t like to go from drying out often and then start to be watered more generously. And vice versa. I also find adansonii is a favorite for pests, but usually pests affect the newest leaves first. I would still check for signs of spider mites or thrips, just in case, but you’re probably in the clear if the baby leaves are nice and green I would check the roots in your base pot for root rot. Luckily you have that moss pole, so the roots in the pole will help maintain the plant if the roots in the pot aren’t doing well

No pests other than hella gnats šŸ™ƒ and the soil was terrible but no root rot thankfully! Now it’s in a more course soil!

Great advice from Mullein. I’m betting overwatering — and that could just be because your soil is hanging onto water longer than your adansonii would prefer. But only you really know your conditions. Does that sound like it could be the case? I keep mine in a west facing window (your light looks good based on this photo at least) and in a chunky coco coir mix for aroids.

You were right - overwatering due to poor soil!

Thank you both! I think I’m going to need to repot it unfortunately because it’s in the soil my fiancee got it in from the plant shop and I feel like they never had the right soil. I was also worried it could be overwatering from misting the moss pole to keep it moist. So I’d bet it’s over vs. under watering. It keeps throwing new leaves which is why I didn’t want to disturb it by repotting it, but sounds like that might be the move simply to get better soil as well!

WELL - here is the very obvious reason smh why do plant stores use this like saw dust like soil!? No root rot, thankfully, but it was FILLED with gnats! I updated to a more course soil and hopefully he will bounce back!
