Welcome to Anything about Plants Secrets! In this episode we cover The non-Plant Secret Files! Macramé Plant Hangers: Spiders Webbing to Your Wallet! Why are Macramé plant hangers so expensive? I get it, it’s a creative thing. When stores charge $24.99, $29.99, $34.99, $39.99, etc., etc. it then becomes a strange price structure. Materials: 1. String or yarns 2. some wooden or plastic beads 3. A ring or multiple rings to hold things together Created by: a. Individual items created by creative humans. b. Multiple, mass produced, items created by machine and monitored by humans doing as they are told. And then all the sales and transportation costs. I get it. Everyone has those costs. It’s called being in business. This amazing string, wooden beaded, plant hanger was purchased at the store FiveBelow. It’s over 5 years old now too. I think it was $4.99 and I wish I had bought 5 of them. (Large Saucer, 3 plants & 3 pots, and ceiling hook, was NOT included. )

I make them (don’t sell) and you would actually be surprised at the cost of the macrame cord and beads. I don’t think I could ever sell anything I make because no one would want to pay me for the time that goes into them 😂 Buttttt—you can make another one yourself with just a trip to Hobby Lobby or Michael’s!

☺️ I too know the feeling of having a creative thing and then trying to convince people of the time and effort, along with supplies, so I am more empathetic when it comes to handmade items. I love doing puzzles, and I love selecting a frame to compliment the puzzle even more. I never glue the puzzles together, this way if somebody bought one, they could take it apart and rebuild it with their family or friends. Unlike just buying a puzzle in a box, you can see what the puzzle looks like when it’s finished and you can see that all the pieces are intact and accounted for. Because everyone who puts together puzzle always is hunting down that piece that we swear is missing from the box and it never is. ☺️ Convincing people of an assigned value of a puzzle already put together, in a frame, that can be unassembled and reassembled, is a difficult thing to do.
