This lil guy has appeared in my Monstera Deliciosa 🍄 Now I think he’s kinda cute 🥰 however yesterday morning he was nothin more than a mere tip peeking thru the soil surface & now he’s a good 7cm tall 😳 Can I just leave it be or is this likely to be problematic? Also, when should I expect the leaves to start having ’holes’? The entire plant is around 50cm tall now & every leaf is solid. I figured the higher leaves would start forming gaps to let light hit the lower leaves but so far, nothing. Last point, is that my first air root developing? (lower left of far left stem). Should I be doing anything to help it on its way? Sorry, so many Noobie questions xxx 😚

Firstly the mushroom is indicative of good soil health so you can leave it if you like it. Secondly I’m sure only young plants won’t fenestrate (give you “holes”) Last thing is yes that’s an aerial root 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Agree with Manic1 - but also the fastest way to fenestration as your plant matures is more light!

As others said, mushroom is a good sign, and fenestration is boosted by light, but also giving it something to climb, like a moss pole, wood plank, coir pole, etc etc, just something for it to attach to and that will make it super happy
