Good morning allšŸ™‚, So, fungus gnats... I have a dragon plant infested with them! I have the mosquito bits, but I am considering repotting because I don't think the soil is one that is chunky enough. It takes forever to dry out. My question is with this type of plant, is it OK to completely wash all the existing soil off the roots to repot in some fresh soil? TIA.😁

That soil looks super chunky already imo

You are absolutely right! I had the top of the soil covered with sphagnum moss, I'm such an idiot! I'm sure that's why it wasn't drying out properly and what made it a nice cozy nest for the gnats. I have removed all of it and watered it with Mosquito bits. Hopefully that will take care of the problem.

That sounds like a great start and hopefully that solves it!

If you repot which you should gnats lay eggs in the soil. You can get rid of all the soil or as much as you can then spray the roots really good with hydrogen peroxide mixed with water or use neem oil on the roots before replanting.
