Random thought… Anybody ever let their plants listen to music? What effects does it have (that you have noticed)?

I’m sure there’s studies; plants like more social places - they’re definitely listening in their own way

The National Library of Medicine has some publications that have explored this topic. There’s also some other publications, specifically Chowdhury and Gupta’s 2015 paper “Effect of Music on Plants — An Overview”

Whenever I have a big plant chore day, I pop the album Plantasia (by Mort Garson) on and let ‘em vibe. I can’t tell you the name of the **alleged** study but I had heard of an experiment of two plants grown in equal conditions except one plant was encouraged nicely while the other was yelled at and belittled. The encouraged one allegedly thrived while the other's growth was stunted. I do not know if there's an ounce of truth to this but I enjoy treating them to some tunes 🎶

Now I feel kinda bad for wearing headphones while I do plant chores 😂
1 likeTo put it simply they like jazz, violin, guitar, classical music or less intense sounds. They are stressed by heavy metal and other head banging music! 😄

Aw sweet babies lol. I wonder if it has anything to do with more intense music sounding like a storm 🤔 Maybe I’m anthropomorphizing them to much lol but it seems to make sense that a plant could have some sort of stress response in anticipation to heavy winds, rain, lightning etc
1 likeI don’t know if it’s frequency or sound volume that affects them the most. I’m assuming both since head banging music is usually played at higher volumes. 🙉🎧💥
