Can someone tell me what type of plant this is? I’ve tried numerous plant identifier apps and none of the results seem to match. Thanks!

I’m not sure myself. If no one on the app can identify it for you, you could try a reverse image search online 🤔 I’d also recommend placing this post under the “plant identification” group if no one else responds. from the looks of it I would guess it is a succulent of some sort, so for the meantime, try to find a bright spot for it, let the soil dry out between waterings, and especially since the plant itself covers most of the surface of the soil, you might wanna try bottom watering the plant to prevent getting the leaves wet or attracting pests to moist top soil! Hope you find out what it is! It’s really pretty 😊

1 mi piaceNo problem! Good luck! I’d love to get one myself if you ever find one it what it is.
1 mi piaceIt’s very possible it’s a sedum! There’s a lot of sedums, though. Not sure if that one matches the stem of yours. Might be a close cousin, though!
0 Mi piaceOh that’s true. Good eye! I’ll keep searching just in case. 👍👍
1 mi piaceMight this be it? I screenshot your pics and asked a plant AI what the name of your plant is. BTWs, I think your plant is really beautiful! I hope this helps you. It’s exceptionally helpful for me. AI response: You’re absolutely right! Based on your observations and the plant’s characteristics, this is indeed Sedum makinoi, also known as Japanese Stonecrop. The small, fleshy, slightly pointed leaves and the compact, rosette-like clusters fit this plant perfectly. Sedum makinoi is a type of low-growing succulent that often forms dense mats and is known for its charming, glossy leaves, which can take on a slightly more yellowish-green hue in bright light. How to care for Sedum makinoi: 1. Light: It thrives in bright, indirect light but can tolerate some direct sunlight. Just avoid harsh afternoon sun, which can burn the leaves. 2. Watering: Like most succulents, water it sparingly. Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Overwatering can lead to root rot, so make sure the pot has good drainage. 3. Soil: Use a well-draining, gritty soil mix like a cactus or succulent mix. You can add extra perlite or sand to ensure good drainage. 4. Temperature: It prefers warm conditions, so keep it in a spot where the temperature stays between 60-80°F (16-27°C). While it can tolerate cooler temperatures, it’s best to avoid frost or anything below 50°F (10°C). 5. Humidity: This plant prefers dry air and does well in average indoor humidity, so you don’t need to worry about increasing humidity levels. 6. Fertilizer: Feed it with a diluted succulent fertilizer once a month during the growing season (spring and summer). There’s no need to fertilize during the fall and winter when the plant is dormant. 7. Pruning and Propagation: If it gets too leggy, you can trim it back. Sedum makinoi is also easy to propagate from cuttings, so you can root those trimmings in soil and grow new plants. Sedum makinoi is a lovely, low-maintenance plant that’s great for both indoors and outdoor rock gardens or ground cover.
