So last fall when I was bringing all my house plants inside I ran out of room so I put some in my unheated garage and I made room for most but this spider plant just never made it inside and I think it did better then some of them in my house. She has even added more babies and flowered.

  1. Might be sentient

Some plants like a dormancy period (cooler temps, less water) before flowering. That might be what’s going on here! Keeping it in there year round might not be the best idea, but if it works, it works.

I will bring it outside again for the summer but I think it will stay in the garage for the winter for now on

Spider plants are resilient. I have several plants that self propagated into my yard many years ago. I’m in zone 9. Seven days of a hard freeze can’t completely kill them. Only the foliage dies back and returns each spring.

These are some of the babies from the 30+ years old green spider plant. They wedged themselves into a crack in the patio. These crawled onto the patio last summer. 😄

It would be quite dead in my garage!
