First time owning a plant that needs humidity, is this distance from my plant okay? My house is open concept so I’m trying to create some localized humidity for her :) additionally how long should I run the humidifier? This is a philodendron billietiae (water drops are from bringing her in from outside I just bought this today)

Hello! Mine is in the kitchen and about 10 feet away from a humidifier. I run the humidifier constantly while I have the heat on. Plant is thriving. I would not be overly worried about humidity for this plant. Mine is not fussy at all.

I wouldn't put it so close that it was blowing the vapor on the leaves. Especially not the underside, as it can mess with the stomata. So probably a foot or so away for one that small.

Humidity isn’t a big thing for most plants, even tropical ones. The main stressor for plant is inconsistent humidity. Maybe it’s 80% now, then 30% later. That drop is hard on plants. The plant would rather have 30% than a constantly changing humidity

Thanks everyone :) I scorched the humidifier away and am thinking to get a meter to measure it so I can keep it consistent- I have a household humidifier but it measures the whole house I probably need one for this localized spot

While I’m on here- should I be concerned with the tears on the leaves? Also it’s got sap on leaves but the nursery worker told me this was the best plant they had because it has new growth coming
