Hi everyone! I hope the summer is treating you and your plant families well! We have a peace Lilly that has been struggling for the past several months. Upon watering it this past weekend, today I discovered what appears to be fuzzy mold. Has anyone seen or aware of what this might be and what steps I should take to save my plant? Brian H

If it’s super bad I would look into repotting, first you can try an antifungal spray though! Wait a couple days. I purchased organic 4 in 1 neem oil which acts as a fungicide, pesticide, miticide and nematicide. I put it into my own spray bottle and gave the top soil a few sprays evenly and I haven’t seen any white mold or fungus come back yet

If you’re able to as well, bottom watering may also assist with this problem by removing moisture from the top layer. Fungus and mold thrives In humid moist areas. Try to get more airflow too in that area, these are all small steps you can take to help

I would check the roots and stems just to be safe. If they’re both mushy it would be rot. Usually mould doesn’t affect plants but I would remove it anyways. Usually due to very moist and humid soil.
