What are they? My boyfriend and I went plant shopping (he got into a bit of a hyperfixation) and I got these two babies. I've done some searching and I can't quite figure out exactly what plants they are? I think the one in the first is the glass might be a spider plant? But he could also be a dracaena according to the plant identifier feature in the photos app... They're 4.5 feet away from the window on the tv stand and it's a west facing window. The vent is on that wall under the window which keeps the bottles I have other plants in water at a steady 68°f. The last photo is a picture of the roots bc I'm not sure if I should add more or pour out water? The instructions on the tag said don't uncork, but Ik tags can be misleading. The second one is labeled as a 'diamond red', but I want to be sure before I add her to my collection. She is 1ft 4inches away from a west facing window and is not near a vent. Any opinions are welcomed, as well as care tips!!!! I am very much a new plant parent, and we live in Wisconsin so- it's cold. We keep the house at 68° and plants are as near to windows as we can get. We have pots for both, and organic potting soil in the garage (COLD), but I'm not sure if I should repot right away as I don't want to shock the roots or anything.

The first one seems to be a corn plant

Yes, first one is a dracaena, aka corn plant.

Oh by the way I have a lady Valentine and they're lovely! The flowers however will kill off the leaves so I suppose if you want leaves you should nip them.

Is there much of a difference in Lady Valentines vs Diamond Reds in terms of care?? I've had her labeled as a diamond red as thats the type she was tagged as when I bought her and she's been doing great sitting right next to my window - even got repotted bc her roots were getting big - and the only issue I've had is some slight browning/yellowing of one of her bigger leaves recently... is there need to change the type?

As far as I can tell, they are different verities of the same plant. I don't think it would matter too much...to be honest, mine was labelled a lady Valentine but grows all kinds of different colors (pink, green, white, pink and green, white and green, etc. I keep mine a bit under a window which gets part sun in the afternoon, shade in the morning, though this has yielded flowers so take that with a grain of salt. Also, that may indeed be a diamond red if the leaves got darker and not burnt in the sun, but since you said she may be slightly crispy now I would advise maybe trying to move her down a bit - I'd try a but under the window at first, just so her leaves aren't hitting the heat of the glass if that's the part you mean. If not, may I see a picture of her now?

Thing is, they are different species! And I know the diamond red actually likes the sun and will get darker with it!

Also if it says diamond red, it likely is a diamond red. They people who labelled her likely are the ones who had to take care of her and have seen her in person and maybe even grew her themselves. I would trust the label tbh because I'm going off one picture of a young plant.

She's in the kitchen rn for watering - might've overwatered a bit so I'm letting her sit with the drainage hole open for a while. The yellow shroom is for gnats which another one of my boyfriend and I's plants are suffering with. The yellowing lead if the highest one in the first photo and the top right in the second
