Mine was gifted to me in a self watering pot last year and it’s still alive. That’s about all I know about spider plants. LOL. I just refill the pot when it runs out.

I manage to keep philodendrons, monsteras, Alocasia's, succulents, some of which are known to be drama queens and difficult...but I can't keep a spider plant alive

Hmmm, yes this looks quite healthy and even has one baby. Are you still keeping it in that window? If so, is the window normally open and what temperature do you guys get?

Mine needs a lot of light. And after fertilizing I noticed it looked so much better. I had to get her a grow light even lol

I've killed 3. I have 3 more are good. I water when it dries up 95%. They are about 3' from an east window. Hope this is helpful.

Wow, I can’t believe I’m actually on the other side of one of these posts. Usually, I’m like same, killed 12. But have a spider plant Bonnie ( the curly ones ) / the mother plant, who has grown so well in my kitchen window that I’ve made a second Bonnie for upstairs, one in a hanging basket for my living room, and gifted one to my mom. Seeing as how they’re all in different stages and all in different sized pots and physical locations, I’m flabbergasted to read that people can’t keep them alive. But I’m not bragging because I’ve also killed sooooo many “impossible to kill” plants 🤣 Is overwatering or extreme root bound a possibility?

This little one is hanging in a pot, probably 15 feet away from a window over a wall heater going full blast. (so obviously completely different from the mother plant in a direct kitchen window). They’re all in basic dirt, tap water, fertilized once I think? I’m confused. 🤔

The healthy picture was when it was first bought as an office warming gift. Its since been brought home due to no heat issues at his office. Its been in my front window with many philodendrons and alocasia plants, to several feet from another window with more philos and alocasia under lights... Ive unpotted to check roots, cleaned them up some... I just can't figure them out!! Ive left her be where she is under some lights near my peace lily, hoya, baby rubber and red congo philo... lol.. if she dies I think im just going to throw my white flag. Haha

I’m with a previous poster - shocked I’m keeping mine alive if so many others have issues! I have one at home that gets a little light, not much. I have another one at work that just gets office artificial light. I water according to planta for the office one. Sometimes it’s droopy and not sturdy. But otherwise it’s been good!
