Does this mean I have to repot? I have a plastic pot and dirt. I’ve never moved a plant before. Any tips from the OGs? Do I need to wear gloves?

Time to repot yes. Roots are looking to grow more

i don’t think so, necessarily. you can pop the plant out for a sec to see how abundant the roots are, just because these are a couple roots poking out doesn’t mean you have to repot right away 😊 there are plenty of how-to-repot videos on youtube that might be more helpful than written directions. you can wear gloves if you want to but you don’t have to.

I agree with this ^^^. Wait a day after watering and you should be able to gently lift everything out of the pot as 1 unit to check the roots. Repot if you’re seeing more roots than soil. A good measure is if there is 50% or more roots to soil then time to upsize.

I wouldn't, it's not uncommon to see some smaller roots out the bottom. If you are allergic to latex, wear gloves. Otherwise you can go glove free, just be sure not to snap branch or leaf. And if you get sap on you wash it off.

Repot go up only 2 inches in diameter. Also what type of plant is that because some plants enjoy tight spaces. Therefore, some plants even with roots coming out the drainage holes might can endure it for awhile growing in the same pot
