Hi can I have everyone’s help please I’m new to plants I got this for Mother’s Day in march (uk Mother’s Day) She’s cracking, dying? This is the pot she’s in, never been re potted, what can I do to bring her back to life? She’s currently in the kitchen window, not full direct sunlight, water her once a week sometimes I forget and it’s every 2 weeks What am I doing wrong? I’m open to any suggestions and advice

    Hey! I’ve got quite a few of these, one of them is a cutting from my Grandmas which she bought in 1981! The trick with snake plants is to almost kinda neglect them a bit, they can survive in almost any light level but, ideally, bright & indirect. Only water when the top couple of inches of soil is dry rather than going by a timescale. I’d also suggest a repot - the soil plants come in is primarily for long shelf life rather than encouraging growth, so I’d try repotting him in some houseplant soil, don’t increase the pot size too much, either. Good luck! These guys can literally last you a lifetime if cared for properly and look gorgeous in any space!

    I’ve found that snake plants tend to push out the oldest leaves, almost literally. So your ones on the edges must get rougher than the ones in the middle. You can leave it or snip off the broke parts or take out the whole leaf.

      I’ve snipped the edges. I’ll see how that goes, I can see new ones growing in the middle!! I thought it was too far gone till I had a proper look 😍
