Do alocasia’s have bulbs? I think I overwatered mine, and I was left with nothing but a stump, that turned mushy. Getting to the bottom (literally) of this plant I came across this. Never dealt with a plant with a bulb before. Roots are white which to me means there might be hope for the plant to bounce back… right??😬 I just soaked it in a hydrogen peroxide solution bath to kill off any other root rot garbage. Any tips on making the plant bounce back from here?

Is there a specific way to care for it like this? Or since there’s roots, continue as normal?

i would leave it in water and wait for a stem before you put it back in soil, considering rot is how we got here. should take a month or two i think

I’ve learned Alocascia LOVE bottom watering. Everyone goes Pon or something of the nature but I have put mine in both spat on moss and regular all purpose soil, and as long as I bottom water, no problem at all and I have plenty of leaves. Luckily, with this species it can be cut to a stump and still grow back (unless rot). I’ve never separated mine. I would assume just putting it back it’s its original substrate would be fine.

I’m a huge fan of stratum and perlite mix. You can use the puddle method (water only) and it will def grow. Or put ina self watering setup. Light layer of stratum/perlite and then spread out the roots and lightly layer with more of the substrate. Then don’t cover the corm. It should just be sitting on top. Both methods work for me ☺️
