Hello, my string of hearts is getting very tangled and long. Is there any way to get more volume at the top and for it to be less long? Any tips appreciated 🙂

Hi! To give your string of hearts more volume at the top and manage its length, you can prune the longer, tangled vines and propagate the cuttings by planting them back into the soil to fill out the top😊 You can also coil existing vines around the soil for a fuller look, but be careful not to pack them too tightly. If the top becomes too crowded, it can prevent proper airflow and hinder the soil from drying out completely, leading to root rot or rotting leaves. Ensure there’s enough space for air circulation and monitor the plant closely after rearranging the vines if you choose this method. Good luck!

tangling is inevitable with these guys. when the right mood strikes it can be kind of nice to sit and gently untangle. you’ve got to prune to get fuller vines. where you cut will branch out with another string or two, and it will encourage more growth up top (which also comes with age) adding props is a good tip too for faster results, but it can get tricky because of the big tubers it grows from

You can chop it to the length you like and the propagate the strands. Then when they have roots plant them in the pot to fill in the balding spots

I chop a string off, cut it at the internodes and press them into any bare soil areas. You can also just take a few strings and wrap them in the pot, using plant fires to push them down until they root
