Are these roots coming out of my golden crocodile philodendron? All my other leaves that grew didn’t have these so should I be concerned? And how do I care for it like that 🙃

  1. Queen Anne plant dad

You can train them to climb sometimes Which you can use to impact their growth pattern and posture. But I haven't seen full grown mature ones that are still climbing anything they get so massive so I'm still not sure on the long-term plan 😆🙏🏽 in nature I assume they would climb something big like a rock or a tree. I did get all my climbers poles though, why not try a science experiment. I ordered these 3D printed hexapoles I think they were called. I used new Zealand sphagnum too stuff them. I used more sphagnum too pad the the space between the pole and the plant and touching the roots with moisture to encourage attachment. We'll see next summer what happens

Ahhhh thank you :) I thought it was a normal root 😆 so then I should be able to just guide them back into the soil hopefully

Aerial roots! They provide support, collect oxygen, nutrients, all kinds of good stuff. I have one on a plant that is 2 ft long that my plant uses to help balance itself. Neat!
