We have had this chinese money plant for a while, and it keeps getting yellow leaves and losing leaves, but we can’t figure out why. Does anyone know whats going on?

It’s so large and does look healthy. Maybe they are just old leaves dying off? I would prune them off if it was my plant, but IDK if that is the best thing to do.

Is it getting the correct amount of sun and water? That usually seems to be the issue with peperomia.

it looks overwatered. the leaves that are touching the soil should be cut off anyways, as they can rot and spread infection to the rest of the plant, but if you push your finger into the soil does any water squish out around your finger? if not, is it soaked? the soil should only be that wet on watering day and watering day alone. it might have root rot.

I had a different peperomia last year at the beginning of my plant parenting journey that died from root rot due to overwatering. I didn’t know what root rot was at the beginning, leaves were yellowing and dropping, and by the time I finally learned about it, it was too late.

Things I hadn’t realized: I was watering according to schedule and the top soil wasn’t wet, but the pot was glazed and held on to water longer, on top of having the plant on a north-facing balcony so no direct sun, and I am in the Tampa Bay Area so extra high humidity… once I realized it and took it out of the pot I saw the roots were gooey:(
