Has anyone had experience growing Hoya Polyneuras (fishtail/ mermaid tail hoya)? I have a lil plant and wondering about its growth rate. Did your plants grow fast/ slow? Mine is growing slow and I’m wondering whether it’s typical and I should just continue to be patient with it OR I’m potentially not giving it its preferred conditions. It’s been hot this summer and have heard they’re from the himalayas.

Mine grew slow. I lost it to pests unfortunately.

Aww I’m so sorry! Its leaves are thin-ish and they do feel susceptible to pests, but I see you have a flowering hoya (?) on your profile photo and those are beautiful!! ❤️

I have clippings I got from a friend of mine that I’ve been waiting forever for them to root. If they grow as slow as they root it could take a while 🫣

I have one that I got as a two-leaf cutting one and a half years ago. It has multiple branches now, each about 30-40 cm long. I did chop and prop a few times too. So it definitely doesn’t grow as fast as a pothos but you will have a sizeable plant in time. I’ve had it in semihydro almost right from the start, it really seems to like that

Hoyas are notoriously slow growers. If you want more growth, add light. Mine always grow ‘faster’ (fuller, more leaves and even blooms) outside on the porch every summer.
