Hey there, Iām not a Hoya owner, but usually when leaves yellow and fall off thatās a sign of too much water or pests, Iād check for pests especially in those cavernous leaves, most Hoyas Iāve seen are also in a more chunkier airy mix as well

yeah, i was thinking about that but i do let my plant dry out before re watering. is it possible that iām giving it too much water instead of too often?
1 LikeMaybe but Iāve never had that problem before itās always just the frequency for me but it is possible
0 LikesAs long as the pot has drainage, the water should be running out of the bottom when you water it. Iāve found that in some of my pots, Iāve had to break up the soil some when watering so that the water can get down in there
2 LikesYou canāt give too much at once as long as the plant needed it, you have the right size pot, and correct kind of soil. Edited to add: this is true for succulents at least.

What type of soil is it in? How big is the pot in relation to the roots? You only want to go 1-2 inches larger than the root ball so this might be too big of a pot.

Itās possible that the pot is too big so the soil is taking too long to dry out (hard to tell in this pic). It can also be that your soil is too dense. Compactas like a chunky mix.
