Hey there, I’m not a Hoya owner, but usually when leaves yellow and fall off that’s a sign of too much water or pests, I’d check for pests especially in those cavernous leaves, most Hoyas I’ve seen are also in a more chunkier airy mix as well

yeah, i was thinking about that but i do let my plant dry out before re watering. is it possible that i’m giving it too much water instead of too often?
1 likeMaybe but I’ve never had that problem before it’s always just the frequency for me but it is possible

What type of soil is it in? How big is the pot in relation to the roots? You only want to go 1-2 inches larger than the root ball so this might be too big of a pot.

It’s possible that the pot is too big so the soil is taking too long to dry out (hard to tell in this pic). It can also be that your soil is too dense. Compactas like a chunky mix.
