Hello, I’ve had my Alocasia for about 3 weeks now, and I have these two bottom leaves that have since drooped and turned yellow/faded. Is this normal dying off of older leaves, or am I doing something wrong? I water and fertilize according to the app, the pot has a drainage hole, and he sits in a room with indirect light, but is under a grow light. Any and all feedback is welcomed and appreciated (: Thanks!!

Alocasias are really touchy about changes so it may be that the leaves are old and being let go of or it may be stress from moving home. Keep giving it good conditions and it will recover.

CHeck for spider mites too. Mine did that and I lost all but one leave. Had to rinse her twice and repot. Now she is coming back 💪 and gave me a corm that is growing.

Spider mites are the worst! I only repotted it maybe a week ago from its original pot, so I’m hoping that’s not what I have 😬

Maybe still give her a rinse but block off the dirt and wipe down. I spray with alcohol too. Good luck!!🍀

Update..the two leaves have completely died off, BUT I have a new sprout!! When cutting off the dead leaves, how far down should I cut?

Always stick your finger in the soil check for moisture before watering. Don’t follow app’s instructions blindly.

I do that trick as well, but thank you for the advice!
