Hi everyone. Recently, my peperomia obtusifolia has really taken off, growing what seems like 10+ leaves within the past month or two. But I've noticed that some of the new leaves coming in have these red spots on their undersides. I have it sitting in a southwest facing window that has a sort of thick screen. It's possible it could just be getting too much light, but I wanted to see what other ideas people may have.

Red spots can mean they are either sunburned or taking in too much water. Try reducing the sunlight for a bit or giving it more indirect light cans check soil moisture with a chopstick or wooden stake before watering. If it’s either of those things they aren’t necessarily bad, just not as visually pleasing to some pant owners. As long as the leaves aren’t browning and crisping it’s usually still healthy.

Thanks, I'll give that a try!

looks like edema which is most commonly from overwatering. checking the soil with a skewer before watering can help. if your plant is otherwise in good health it’s nothing to worry about. it also appears that your plant is not peperomia obtusifolia but rather a variegated peperomia clusiifolia or red edge peperomia
