When soil gets old or too compacted, does it cause water to run right through it? When I water my Maranta water runs directly through it. I was watering according to the app., but it’s getting way too crunchy and sad. So I watered again today and I’m letting it set in the saucer for a bit before I dump it out. It’s in 4”nursery plastic pot with terra cotta cover pot, but I think it should go in a 6” glazed ceramic.

    When it is old it will tend to do this, try repotting your plant. You dont need to change the pot but try changing the soily

    Ok, thank you for answering. I think I will need a bigger pot also, as I’m starting to see roots.
