New plant set up! ( a bit mediocre, don’t mind it I’m a High school student with a horrible sense of decor) Can you guys maybe write me some tips and tricks for these plants, I thought no advice would be better than my fellow planters around the world. But here I’ve got, an Inch plant, Boston Fern ( Recovering ) Dragon Tree, Ming Fern ( Asparagus Fern ) & Arrowhead Syngonium, as well as an Umbrella tree, and some sort of Pothos, maybe golden? . Maybe share experiences you’ve had if any.- Also Happy Friday.

    You can get matching pots, those might pull the whole look together, but it depends what your going for, I have a more minimalist style thou. But it looks good!

    In case nobody's told you yet... Lots of ferns, while being delightfully fluffy and touchable, do not actually want to be touched. I wish I'd known that sooner!! I definitely traumatized my ferns at first but they seem to be recovering now. As far as set-up goes, I am floored that you're a high school student! This is already looking great. The only ingredient you're missing for jungle vibes is time-- when all those plants grow a little more, your shelves will look super lush.

      Ooh another thing you might like, if you can find it anywhere near you, is a live Spanish moss plant (a type of tillandsia/air plant.) Their care is super easy, and as a bonus they kind of act like a pebble tray re: providing humidity after watering. I'm terrible and don't follow advice much with air plants; I dunk mine in a pitcher of distilled water twice a week while I'm watering the other plants in that room, sit it on a tea towel for a few minutes while I water more plants, and then hang it back up. I also mist it sometimes and as a very occasional treat it gets a little splash of dilute fertilizer in its bath... It's seriously so easy and it's a fun bit of visual texture.

      This makes so much sense, my fern has been so sparse on one end and I’m starting to think it’s from casual touching maybe from my dog passing by the fonds, or something? I’m not entirely sure. Which fertilizer would you recommend? Or something to reactivate that growth spot in the crown

    TPS makes a fern-specific one, which I find useful for some other epiphytes as well, and it's not too pricey.
