In my recent experience, they like to be warm and moist. I think the warmth would help stop the mold? I got a heated seeding pad and I have seen some great progress after months of nothing

0개 좋아요The key to mold prevention is to preemptively sterilize things. Sterilize containers by wiping them with rubbing alcohol before use. Sterilize soil/media by pouring boiling water into it (do let it cool before adding plants). Corms can be sterilized with hydrogen peroxide (it's gentler than alcohol). And for water, start with distilled or rainwater. You may have to acclimate it like a tissue culture as it gets established, but this will drastically reduce the odds of mold

좋아요 1개A video I saw some time ago showed its best to remove a tiny amount at the spout end, so can see a bit of green, Do you have any small holes in film as may need a bit of fresh air to circulate in pot. was a post on here a couple days ago and they placed on small saucer with a bit of water and placed in a bright area

hi, you can just let them mold. no extra step necessary. The mold is just the outer skin decomposing. The actual corm will be fine.

that happens if the container gets too humid. I have many that starts molding and I open them and let the decomposing stuff take its course. An easier way to control it is to just put them in that cup without the perlite with just a TINY layer of water on the bottom. Every week or so, wash off the corms and put them back.
