I'm having an issue with my Boston fern. It was moved to a high up location indoors away from most light (plus it's England in the winter so not much to be had anyway) and near the ceiling, and didn't get watered for a while. I have since moved it to my east facing kitchen windowsill and have given it a drink. What else can I do to help it?

Some things I have done when my Boston fern wasn’t doing great- it was fairly root-bound so I split it into 2, and gently over time after trimming the dry ferns and watering it gently, over a few months the now 2 ferns came back and are now lush. I am in Florida, though so much more humidity. I have heard of you group them together they create their own microclimate. I am not a plant expert, though, so maybe more experienced growers have better advice.

That's so interesting about the microclimate. I''ve heard not to group plants together because of pests. But then they often have to be grouped together due to light etc! Plus plants all grow along side each other in nature..

I had a different situation with a fern, it was drying up because it was new and i'd repotted it. So I trimmed a load of the dead fronds and it's starting to really grow well now!
