Does anyone know if this is common for new ivy leaves to stay curled, or is this a nutrient deficiency/light/water?

It depends. There are a lot if factors that go into ivy leaves curling for example they have pests or the leaves are getting to much light. The temperature is also a factor so if your plant is by an AC or heater, think about moving the plant. But new leaves curled like this are normal, but old leaves curled may be a problem. HOPE THIS HELPS!!

Thank you for your response that helps. We bought our ivy and pretty sure it got root rot and we lost all but this one stem and it only had two remaining leaves left on this one little stem. We repotted it and nursed it back to health so I a little over protective of it since she’s been doing so well. I use haven’t seen much of her new growth fully unravel yet. We do have a fungus gnat problem currently we removed the infected plants but have been using neem oil to hopefully eventually get rid of them. Thank you for taking the time to respond!
