I think this baby has something, but I don’t know what. She’s basically been a failure to thrive. I did see some shiny dark sticky lines on the back of one of her leaves, plus some other bothersome spots. IDK, but I hope one of you will. TIA… 🤗💚🪴

Ahhh it looks like it could be spider mites, last picture looks like white stuff might be dead and dried up ones which means it could be a problem! They are so prone to calatheas sadly. Are you watering with distilled water also?

Yes, I use filtered water, so there’s no chlorine or anything else in the water. I’m not sure how filtered water compares to distilled water??? Will neem treat spider mites, and get rid of them? Should I take that white stuff off with something like a Q-tip? I do have several calatheas, should I treat them prophylactically? TIA….🤗💚🪴

Just a few more questions: do you think this small plant can survive at this point? She is trying to push out one new leaf, after no growth for a long time. How transmissable are spider mites, and how hard is it to get rid of these pests? Thanks again for your help!….. 🤗💚🪴
