Is it normal for the alocasia plant to bend like this?
Might need more water or sunlight
2 Me gustaOkay thank you. I did feel the soil and the top inch was dry so I just watered it.
1 me gustaGive it support with a bamboo stick and give more light. I would also give the plant more humidity. Consider a humidifier or pebble tray
2 Me gustaThank you! I’ll try the light and bamboo stick. I have a humidifier behind it in the picture. The humidity is around 70-80%
0 Me gustaAll of mine did this except my Polly. Thru much research over a long time, talking to “experts”, I came to the conclusion that it was too much light. I have a lot of succulents and therefore many grow lights. I moved to a completely different room with less light, and new growth is staying straight. Unfortunately it’s permanent. You can stake them to straighten them. I wouldn’t do that because I was determined to find the reason. Over the last several months I’ve been cutting off the lowered stems as they get replaced with new straight stems.
1 me gustaOhhh woww, I’ll monitor it to make sure. Thank you so much for the tips!
0 Me gustaYou will find people making the usual suggestion of needing more light, too much water, too little water, add more fertilizer, etc., but no one had a for sure answer, only guesses. After more digging, I found people with same experience and possible answers, and that was too much light. Some were so low they were below the the pot. I found people on Reddit dealing with it.
