Getting ready to repot for the first time, tips and moral support welcome! I'm about to repot my Chinese money plant (pilea), elephant bush and two other succulents. Should I fertilize when I'm repotting? Or does the fresh soil already have enough nutrients?

I personally do not fertilize a fresh repot. Water thoroughly afterwards, then on the next water cycle add fertilizer. Good luck 💚 (I prefer bottom watering/fertilizer)

My #1 mess up when I repotted for the first time was to use Miracle Grow potting mix for all of my plants. 🫤 It was way too dense and I nearly lost them to root rot. So I pay strict attention to the soil each plant needs. I also learned to pot them in plastic pots with lots of drainage and put those in a decorative pot if I want something prettier as opposed to planting straight into a decorative pot with one little drain hole in the middle. Good luck. You’ve got this. 👍 (pretend that’s a green thumb emoji. lol)

Thanks, fellow Amy! That's helpful advice, especially since I was about to go out and buy some cute decorative pots! I'll get the right kind of soil while I'm there 😅

I would repot in a tad bit bigger pot — not too big, with fresh soil and I loosen the root ball, and you can go ahead and fertilize now. I dilute the fertilizer with filtered water. I did mine a week ago and it’s looking green still and didn’t disturb anything on my end. I need to trim my plant since it’s getting too big and it’s crossing a lot lol. I see new growth to so I’ll probably cut back here.
