Hi everyone, do you know any working way to water plants while being away? Most of my plants are succulents and they are drought resistant, but I have some others that can’t wait 3 weeks between watering. Thanks! Giusy

I personally use watering globes but I’ve seen someone else respond to this type of question before saying they will move their plants to the bathroom, fill their tub with water, then bury one end of a string in the plant and put the other end in the tub. Similar to that, if you don’t want to move everything to the bathroom, you could look into watering stakes

I suppose that the watering globes works differently according to pot size… I have to try before leaving, three weeks could without water will kill all my plants 🙈

I have some big plants (in 12in pots) currently doing good with watering globes while I’m away on a 3 week trip. They come in a whole variety of sizes to help you find what you need. And if you don’t like the globes, the watering stakes would allow you to setup of large amount of water (like you could use a quart mason jar as your reservoir, or bigger like a clean milk jug)

Check online for “indoors plant watering systems.” Many are available. I’ve only used the outdoor faucet timers that hook up to a hose or drip line system. Used one while on vacation for over 3 weeks. The timers are battery powered. 🪴🍀

I feel like this trick never gets talked about, but it has saved me several times: put a large, clear plastic bag over the plant, using wooden stakes to hold the bag up, cinch the bag at the bottom of the planter to seal. This will create a virtual terrarium with humidity around 100%. Aroids will absolutely thrive with this method and can be self sustaining for as long as there’s sufficient moisture in the bag, much longer than 3 weeks.
