Can someone give me some advice on this, please? My husband has had this bonsai for a couple of years. We moved to Phoenix from CA where I told him it’s best to have it as an inside plant. He told me I should just take care of it. In my opinion, it doesn’t look very healthy. I actually repotted it into more of a bonsai mix soil. and when I went to misted some of my plants, I noticed that there was some mist that landed on it and I saw these webs. What are they, how do I get rid of them? If it’s OK and it’s nothing to worry about. I’m just gonna have to CPR it into good health. Thank you for all your advice. Much as needed.

Hmm. Could be spider mites? I haven’t had them on my plants before, so I’m not certain. But I know they’re a very common plant pest that makes webs

That’s really bad spider mites. First please get it away from all of your other plants ASAP. I would go ask in the bonsai group about how to save a beautiful pre bonsai tree like this one.

Thank you. I have never had any pest before so I never thought about it. Crossing my mind about getting on my other plants. Thanks for the idea about going into the bonsai group and asking them.

You will see lots of mites if it is a spider mites infestation. It may be bagworm/web worm moths if you don’t see any mites. Bagworm caterpillar build thick webs and also cocoon themselves in the leaves of conifers. Remove the webs and check for any dangling cocoons. Pull those off. Neem oil can clear up spider mites. It should clear up any caterpillars. I’ve never tried neem oil on bag worms. I’ve only seen them high up in trees. Wasp spray is what I used. It sprays 10 feet. 🍀🪴

Bonsai actually do much better being outside, most of them needs dormancy period also in the winter unless they are tropical bonsai and will need brought in during winter.
