I’ve always been told using equal parts green living stuff to brown dead stuff. So equal parts food scraps, grass cuttings, recently pulled weeds, etc. To dead leaves, cardboard, wood shavings/dead sticks, etc.
1 LikeYou also want to be able to stir it regularly. When I had one I drilled small holes into a large plastic container with the a lid and would flip it a few times to mix it. The holes would let any liquid drain out. You can have a pan or something under it to catch the liquid and use it as fertilizer.

0 LikesNo, but if you google diy composted bin the young house love website explains it roughly the same way I did mine. I just didn’t add the soil in with. I tried to share the website but this app wouldn’t let me.
