hey everyone!!! i just wanted to ask a question about the recommendations for misting almost all of my plants 🌱 i have heard a lot from friends, and other research, that it is NOT recommended to mist most of the plants i have been misting. except for my air plant, and monstera. there is no option in this app to note that i do grow my plants in a small greenhouse in my apartment. i do move my two big pothos to my balcony in the summer and they THRIVE! does anybody else have any thoughts/ideas/recommendations on the misting schedules?

I turned my misting reminders off in the settings of each of my plants. I haven’t been misting my tropical for months and they’ve been doing fine.

instead of misting i suggest a humidifier, that way the water molecules are in the space instead of sitting on your plants, although i do mist when i see new leaves to provide a lubricant

but, misting in the green house may be a good idea, you also can get saucers, fill them with rocks, and then set a plant on top so that when the water evaporates it’s close to the plant

Put all of your plants into chat gpt and ask for a misting schedule. The prompt I use is: You are now the world’s best botonist. Here is a list of my plants- remember this list. Name of plant: date last watered, proximity to sun and light meter Sometimes you have to adjust and remind it that some of the plants are tropical. But then I ask it every day which plants to mist.

ChatGPT is an AI program that allows you to program it for certain tasks (mostly providing and organizing information) by creating prompts. You can download it at the App Store (it’s free) or you can use it on a browser!

To be honest misting is not effective especially for tropical plants. Humidifiers are much more effective in providing long lasting humidity for your plants

Unfortunately I have to keep some of my plants that don’t like particularly like humid air with plants that require humidity due to space -.-

Same!! I put the plants who aren’t a fan of humidity in the furthest part of the room under a grow light away from my humidifier. It’s not the best but it works good enough

thank you everyone!! good to know, i do have a humidifier, usually keep it in my living room instead of my bedroom with my greenhouse(because i leave my greenhouse open after misting), but i will definitely move it
