I keep finding these white fuzzy things on my staghorn. Is this mealy bugs? I don’t see actual bugs. I wiped them all off last week and now they are back. Any help with identifying and treatment would be greatly appreciated. None of my other plants seem to have this.
That looks like a mealybug nest. Use alcohol and a q-tip and remove it. If it turns red, then you know for sure that it is a mealybug nest. Remove it asap before they hatch!
5 likesThose are definitely mealybugs. Since I see several, I doubt killing them individually would wipe them all out. My preferred treatment method is to wipe down the entire plant with paper towels dampened with rubbing alcohol, since that instantly kills them. It will need to be repeated once or twice a week for a while to get rid of all of them.
