My green shamrock oxalis triangularis arrived 3 weeks ago very juicy from traveling next to the heat pack. The damaged leaves quickly died. They are being replaced with new ones and flowers. The leaves fold at night and open in the morning as shown.

It’s such a forgiving plant. Love the pot pairing 💚

You’re right. They bounce back quickly, in general. I thought this was fried from the heat pack. The seller, Hirts Garden, refunded the cost and told me not to throw it away. Just cut it and water when it dries out. I’m surprised it started to bloom already.

I’ve been considering buying a couple plants from Hirt’s. Would you recommend them?

That was kind of them. It’s looking good. I’m sure you’ll have a full pot in no time.

Kate, Hirts is good in my experience. I’ve ordered an orange mandarin spider plant and a Philodendron brandtianum. Both came in beautiful condition.

Sorry for the late reply. Hirts is a major nursery that’s been around for years. They know how to ship plants. It’s just the temperatures increased more than expected and the heater pack was no longer necessary. But, it was already shipped. They quickly refunded the money without arguing about it. It really wasn’t their fault. They didn’t gave to give me a refund.

I think this is the same plant but not 100% but I had to dig it up and pot a few weeks ago and it lost some leaves around the edges when they turned brown. It’s much happier now and really bounced back quickly.

Yours is the variety with the smaller leaves. I have a few varieties I need to plant. I also bought the gold veined variety. The hot pink flowers are striking. Mine has the larger triangular leaves. It’s also named False Shamrock. They all act the same. They go dormant.

Thanks. I’m new to these plants so I wasn’t sure. I think they are so pretty and yesterday I saw a hundred little pink flowers on it. They close at night like the leaves. 😊
