My boyfriend’s jade is entirely purple except the leaf it was propagated from and a tiny bit of the newest growth. We are unsure if it is sun stress, underwatered, or if this is normal growth. Any ideas or tips are appreciated thanks!

    Looks like sun and/or watering stress. Just make some adjustments for one or both and you’ll be good.

    It does look like it’s a little of both, but the underwatering is more detrimental to the plant, so you should probably just water a couple days earlier. Sun stress on plants is not necessarily bad, especially for succulents, as it’s a natural defense. A lot of plants won’t grow properly unless you give them enough light. So it’s better to err on the side of too much as long as it’s not actually burning the plant.

    sun stress and maybe a little thirsty based on the leaf curling. sun stress is not harmful if they're getting enough water, lots of people try to get these discolorations on purpose because they look cooler than the base plant
