Does anyone have advice on what to do with the browning at the bottom of my birds of paradise? I’m not sure what is causing it. It’s on the bottom of all 3 stems

Check the roots for rot. Stem rot starts from the roots. I recommend removing the moss off the soil. Moss stays wet a long time. It slows the soil from drying by reducing evaporation like a mulch. Root rot can start when the soil takes too long to dry.

Trim I’m glad you found the cause. Trim the rotten roots, disinfect by rinsing the with hydrogen peroxide to kill bacteria and replace all of the soil which maybe too wet and is holding bacteria. Disinfect cutting tools/hands/pot to avoid spreading bacteria/fungus. 🪴🍀
