Is this bad?? This is my Scindapsus Silver Hero. It doesn’t look like damage, it looks like water-log or whatever it’s called when the cells burst due to water consumption, but the soil is nearly dry/ready for watering, and the “pattern” puts me in mind of thrip damage. And since I’m currently battling thrips in another section of my jungle, I want to be sure this isn’t it!

Definitely looks like edema, I saw a Reddit thread saying some people see this on their scindapsus. Maybe try to give it a few more days between watering

Agreed. Definitely edema. You can also try poking holes into the top of the soil to help aerate it more

That’s what it’s called! Thank you. Yeah I’m not watering him yet. I’m just glad it’s not thrips. 😬 And the soil is nice and loose. He’s good in that department. I haven’t had Scindapsus before so I’m not sure what’s normal and good for them.

My nursery rep said they start to curl when thirsty. I just got one recently! ❤️

They do. Just like pothos. But I don’t like to let them get to that point, it’s traumatizing for them. I prefer to keep track of the soil moisture.

I didn't know regular pothos did that! Yeah, my scinda is new to me but I'm not waiting either then!

Yeap! In my experience, Pothos have to be really very dry to curl, and since the most common problem plant owners have is overwatering, it’s not a wonder it’s a rare sight. 😁 It started happening to my Jade Pothos because she needed a repot and was too root bound for a good watering to make a difference.
