Hi all! I really want this plant but all I have ever heard about it is that it just wants to off itself and it’s hard to keep alive. Has anyone had success with this plant? If so, what are your tips? My grandma just passed away so my MIL is buying me a plant in remembrance of her but I don’t want it to immediately die. Thanks!!

I love mine! I keep it in moss and above my humidifier. Not a single problem out of it. It’s like tripled in size since I got it. 💜

Yes! I really just encourage people to use moss for these plants. I think it makes it easier on the person and plant to keep up with watering because they are just SO thirsty. That’s where I think some of the failure happens.

I also keep mine near a humidifier… but I think slightly brown tips here and there are inevitable on this one… if that’s something you’re okay with

Yeah! I have two calatheas who are thriving besides some brown tips and I usually just have to trim them a lot. I was just wondering if this plant was harder to actually keep alive than other prayer plants/calatheas.

Mine has done better since I started watering with distilled water.

The first time I had one of these in soil it declined slowly until it died and I was scared to get one again. Eventually I did and I moved it to semi-hydro (LECA) and it’s happily growing. No humidifier so there are some brown tips here and there but overall it’s happy
