I just lost my precious momma last month and this was her favorite plant. So I just joined today to learn about it and do everything I can to keep it alive. I just learned it’s a snake plant.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Snake plants are very easy and thrive even when neglected a bit. 💗
1 LikeThank you!!!! I’m struggling, but I’m ok. That’s good to know. I’m having a hard time judging how much water to give them when it is time to water them.
0 LikesYeah I know what you mean. I don’t have snake plants but start with spray bottle.
1 LikeYou have my deepest condolences! May this beautiful plant serve as a memorial for her! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
2 LikesSnake plants are sneaky.
1 LikeSo very sorry for loss. Snakes are easy just don’t give them too much water. They like to be dry and crowded.
3 LikesMy mom just past a year and half ago. The early stage of that can be hard 😪 but is will get better. Also I just joined today as well. I order a 6 ft 5 tall 4-ft wide plant stand for my living room and it comes with plant lights it can hold 10 plants. I also have ordered 14 different types of indoor sapling plants. This will be a good attorney for me being that this is my first time taking care of that many plants at once and I'm looking forward to the journey. Plus I'm on vacation for 3 months and I figured this would be something good to do during my time off
2 LikesSo sorry for your loss and snake plants are a succulent so it doesn’t need frequent watering I know because I have one

I lost my mom last year. I’m so sorry for your loss but it’s wonderful that you have this plant to remember her by.
1 LikeSorry for your loss. The plant will be a nice way to remember her. Snake plants kind of like to be neglected. And dry out completely between waterings. It’s hard to say how much to give them in terms of water. Start small.
1 LikeI fully water mine on the days that I water making sure every inch of soil is wet. then I wait about 3 weeks in between watering until all of the soil is completely dry (I check using a chopstick or something that can reach the bottom). you can also tell if it needs water because the leaves will be a little less stiff
1 LikeThank you that’s good info
0 LikesLoss is never easy. Honestly, time doesn’t even take away the pain but you learn to adjust to your new normal and that will become more routine with time. Cherish the memories! And I’m happy that you inherited her favorite plant. As others have said, snake plants are easy as long as you don’t overwater them. I allow mine to completely dry in between waterings and I keep them in well draining soil. They are very easy to propagate too! 🥰 Wishing much success.
