I use succulent soil for my Aloe Vera. I also find that the best way to know when to water them is when the tips turn skinny. It’s definitely easy to over water them so they thrive best from “neglect”. I also use a grow light but they should be fine near a window. Hope this info helps. I am needing to transfer mine to a bigger pot so don’t pay mind to the size.

0 Mi piaceI agree..
0 Mi piaceYou can also tell when they need water by looking to see if the leaves are skinner and squishy and root rot is the worst thing so definitely don’t over water have fun!

1 mi piaceIf you can put it outside, and I say this with my whole heart, USE A POT- I put mine in ground and I was picking out mini seedlings for a month after I potted it...
1 mi piaceMake sure your pot/soil has excellent drainage. Don't get water in between the leaves (and dry it if you splash). They are prone to rotting if the root tips sit in water or if water gets trapped in the crevices
4 Mi piaceMine seems pretty easy! It’s even at my office with not a ton of light. Doesn’t need a ton of water.

0 Mi piaceI have my Aloe Vera outside since it was a small one, Everything dries up requires a bit more water, but I have not had one issue it’s a good versatile plant seriously and would be one of your easiest plants to care for. Good luck planting.. And I have to bring it in soon so definitely keep up with awareness whether it’s in or outside..🙏🏽❤️
1 mi piaceBasically, leave it alone. It doesn't need much. Water at most twice a month and fertilized with slow release fertilizer once a year.
0 Mi piaceBeautiful!! I believe if it starts to turn brown, that means it has to much sunlight.
0 Mi piaceYes, too much direct sunlight. It's getting sunburned. I wouldn't cut the brown parts off. If you move it out of the sun it will eventually outgrow the brown leaves. It's very pretty, regardless!
1 mi piaceI've seperated my aloe vera 3 times as it's had so many offshoots. I let it dry out for a while, never too wet. Plenty of juice for use on mozzie bites!
