UPDATE!!: My corn plant’s flower has fully emerged. It DOES have a lovely perfume fragrance! It is now evening and the smell is getting stronger!! I am so thrilled. Thanks to Planta and my efforts of really paying attention to my plants and giving them what they need, I have been rewarded with flowers!! I never knew a Dieffenbachia flowered. My corn plant is looking like an alien is coming out the top but alas, it is a flower. I love to shop the clearance plants and bring them back to life. Both plants I’ve had for about 6 years or more, and they struggled with pests, not enough light, being drafty and inexperience. Look at them now. ❤️

    Beautiful, congratulations and well done! I live in an apartment and my neighbor has a corn plant in a shared gallery space. It flowered this past winter and the entire gallery smelled incredible for days. It was such a great pick-me-up. Enjoy!

    OMG! I never knew they flowered! They are so gorgeous! 😍🫶🏽 I recently rescued both a corn plant and a dieffenbachia too. I hope they do as well as yours. Do you have any tips?

      I would say to really pay attention to your plants as individuals. Be consistent in watering, feeding, and even moving around the house as the sun may move. My corn plant was purchased healthy and I had it near the front door and it took a while for me to realize it didn’t like the blast of cold air in the winter time. It took me moving it around my house several times until I found a place it liked. The Dieffenbachia fought pests for a good while, and finally won the battle.

    Wow I also wasn’t aware that these flower! I have a corn plant too, what commercial or personalized soil mixture do you use for yours? I’m a beginner plant mother and trying to figure it all out!
