Any teachers here that have plants in their classrooms? I have only recently found a passion for indoor gardening and would love to have some of my plants in my classroom in the fall. I have a really nice long south facing windowsill. At home all my plants are in my eastern facing windows as I don’t have a southern window. I was thinking of maybe taking in my snake plant, rattlesnake plant and possibly my pothos. Do you think they would do well in a southern window? I would LOVE to get a monstera but maybe that would be too difficult?

My teachers in the past have had a ton of thriving plants. Most, due to not having windows, used grow lights. However, since you have windows, I think the plants you listed would do well, as long as the sun isn't too intense. I find monsteras are pretty tolerant for me, so definitely give it a try

I am dying to get a monstera so maybe that would be a good place to keep it!

Monsteras love big windows. They will thrive. The other plants will do well too. You may have to set the pothos a foot or two back to get less direct sunlight. Spider plants like bright light. So, set them back too. Cacti and succulents will do great and are both low maintenance. ZZ, hoyas and ponytail plants are good options. They won’t make a fuss over the weekend. 🪴🍀

Thank you! This will give me more space to buy more plants! Yay!
