Hii! Today I got this lovely beauty, and I’m just here for some advice! (Or things I should probably do/know) If anyone has advice on how to take care of her, I’ll be more than happy to hear it! :))

Alocasia polly is relatively new to me! Ive had one for 3 months now and its just gotten out of dormancy, though its been my 2nd easiest alocasia since its a hybrid which are more resistant. Id say change the soil since it looks to be entirely peat based bottom water in my oppinion since my allocasias actually seem to be prone to overwatering rather than underwatering. Sensitive roots :P
0 J'aimeThanks for your advice! Also, how should I water it? Do I need a certain pot? (Sorry I’m a visual learner so things need to be explained really well with words..)
0 J'aimeI'm not an expert, but I put mine into one of the terracotta self watering pots from Walmart and it's doing really well. I let the reservoir be empty for about a week before refilling
1 j'aimeI'm going to say good luck and i really mean that. I killed mine and i have no clue why but i did notice while i had it that every time a new leaf came in one of the old leaves would die.
0 J'aimeBut good luck some people can keep them alive and they are so cool looking!!
1 j'aimeI heard that might be pretty normal! I think it’s common for them to let a leaf go when a new one grows, so they don’t have too many leaves to take care of—but I’m not sure!
1 j'aimeDo know the name of the plant ?
1 j'aimeAn Amazonica Alocasia or an Elephant Ear/African mask plant!! It’s all the same thing, it has many names!
