i watered my variegated string of hearts for the first time after repotting her and i should’ve added a layer of rocks or bark underneath because so much soil came out the bottom and into my sink😭 guess im adding more soil when i get back from the gym and being more careful when watering🤷‍♀️

I’ve seen people use that mesh that you get with your fruit. You know the plastic mesh bag that you get oranges or mandarins in? Just cut a piece and put it over the drainage hole and that should help!

When I water I put a paper towel over my sink drain. I clogged my drain too many times lol so that catches dirt while still draining water. After you can just bundle it up and throw it away

I use drywall joint tape over the drain hole. It’s cheap and you just cut to size. I use two pieces. Diagonally overtop each other. It is slightly sticky which holds it in place. It must be safe because it has been suggested from several good sources. Not just Facebook. I know better than that.

it will eventually stop leaking soil with time, this just happens because the soil is still loose and settling right after you repot :) if the drainage hole is really big, then i recommend some mesh :)
